Introduction

Fostering young children means giving a child their first happy memories, from their first trip to the beach to birthday celebrations, or even simple cuddles they might not have experienced before.

Many of these children have been through difficult times, including neglect or abuse, so they may sometimes show challenging behaviour. But you will never be on your own; our team supports you every step of the way.

WHAT’S INVOLVED & WHO COMES INTO OUR CARE

Children entering care often need extra love, stability, and nurturing due to neglect, abuse, or difficult family circumstances. As a foster carer, your role will include:

  • Daily care and routines, feeding, sleeping, play, and nurturing development

  • Emotional support, helping children feel safe, loved, and valued

  • Early learning opportunities, supporting speech, social skills, and play

  • Partnership with professionals, working with social workers, therapists, and schools

Every child's needs are unique, and placements, their time in your care, can be short-term, long-term, or occasional short breaks. With your support, children can thrive and form positive attachments in a safe home.

WHO CAN FOSTER & SUPPORT FOR CARERS

We welcome carers from all walks of life. To be a foster carer, you should:

  • Have a spare bedroom

  • Be aged 21 or over (no upper age limit)

  • Ideally have some experience with children or young people

  • Be a British citizen or have Leave to Remain in the UK

Support for carers includes:

  • A dedicated Supervising Social Worker

  • 24/7 advice and guidance

  • Tailored training specific to young children’s needs

  • Peer and local support groups

  • Access to additional resources and networks

Whether you’re single, married, or in a couple, with or without children — from any background — you’ll be fully supported in giving a young child a safe, loving home.

"We want children to achieve their potential, no matter where they come from or what challenges they meet along the way."

Nick Barnsby, Director

Foster Carer Allowances

All foster carers receive financial support to help with the care of a child. The amounts are the same across all companies:

Weekly Allowance:

  • £436.24 per week

Additional Benefits:

  • Summer Holiday Payment: £300

  • Child’s Birthday Payment: £150

  • Christmas Payment: £150

  • Annual Carer Bonus: £200

These payments cover the child’s essential needs and recognise the important work of foster carers.

The organisation values the contribution foster carers make in recruiting new foster carers. Rewards are paid for each new foster carer you refer:

  • Introductory Fee: £100 - for introducing a potential carer

  • On Approval: £500 - once the new foster carer is approved

  • First Child Placement: £1,000 - when the new foster carer takes in their first child

This programme encourages experienced foster carers to share their knowledge and help expand the network of support for children.
