Introduction
Parent and Child fostering provides a nurturing, supportive home environment for new mothers and their infants when extra help is needed. These fostering arrangements support both the parent and the baby as they build confidence, strengthen bonds and develop important life skills.
This form of fostering focuses on helping parents, often facing circumstances where they may need additional encouragement, guidance and emotional support, to give their baby a safe and loving start in life. Your care can make a lasting difference for both generations.

WHAT’S INVOLVED & WHO COMES INTO OUR CARE
Parent and Child fostering supports babies and their primary caregiver, most often a young mother, who may need a safe home and structured support to care for their child. These families may require:
Assistance with daily care routines, feeding, bathing, sleeping and establishing structure
Emotional encouragement, helping build confidence in parental instincts
Support in understanding development needs, communication, bonding and early milestones
Partnership with professionals, working with health visitors, social workers, midwives and support services
Every fostering arrangement is unique, and the level of support required may vary. Some carers help with parenting skills, others focus on providing emotional warmth and stability while parent and child grow into their role.
